Wild Edibles at the Farmers’ Market

How much more of a localvore can you be than eating local wild edible plants found in our woods and fields?  Buy them local at the market! A number of our Capital City Farmers’ Market vendors sell a variety of wild edibles and they’ll explain how you can prepare them.   Ever tasted the Chagga chai from LePage Farm?  Alan LePage prepares the brew from a wild mushroom that grows on trees.  This tea is used both medicinally and as a healthy drink.   Visit our new vendor, David Kaczynski owner of Wild Side of Vermont, who sells mushrooms and wild edibles.   Over the summer season, keep your eyes open for the changing types of wild edibles offered by many of our produce vendors.
